According to Mumbai Mirror, the planners of Bandra Worli Sea Link are actually planning
to extend the sea link to Haji Ali. The Bandra Worli Sea Link that will open by January 2009 will be a boon for the hustling Mumbaikars.
With traffic in mind, a couple of different ideas have been suggested for the extension of the sea link to Haji Ali. One of the idea is of an underground tunnel in the sea. Though this idea doesn't seem feasible, it would be interesting to see how the developers would plan in the rendering. If worked out, we might see an underground tunnel. The other proposal is a combination of a sea-link-underground-tunnel. The second idea doesn't seem more feasible either. The government should consider of extending the sea link with a sea link and not doing anything fancy. Thanks to our bureaucrats, the sea link has already been delayed by over 2 years and adding to such fancy idea will be another mess.
I am hoping that the government sticks to its word and hopefully we won't have to wait another 30 years for the implementation of the next sea link.
